Capital tree lighting

One of the many great things about Austin is all the festivals and community events. Every year there is a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, sing-along and downtown stroll at the capital building. We made it in time to see the street performers, vendors, carolers, and parade. The shops were all open to host different craft events for the kids, the old Paramount Theater was even open for a free showing of Rudolf! It was so much fun and really got us in the Christmas spirit.

I hope the REAL Santa doesn't look like this.

We also took a look in the Austin Hat Shop on 6th st.
